While large factories churn out identical boards, we still cherish the scent of fresh shavings curling over our grandfathers' heads. Here, in the Carpathian foothills, wood isn't just raw material, but a tangible history. It's brought from the forest, where every fir and larch is remembered as a boy, and then, without letting go, it's transformed into the building that holds a home together.

The floorboards come out of the machine warm, as if they were just picked from the tree. The blockhouse protects the annual rings so the wall breathes like a forest. The lining fits seamlessly into the grooves because we take our time: we dry the wood right down to the core, not just to the moisture meter test. False spruce timber holds its shape because it knows what the original spruce looked like in the wind. Larch decking thrives on rain and sun, not on varnish from a can: the resin is already inside, because the wood grew slowly on a rocky slope.

The mounting rail comes complete with the same grain as the larger boards, so even the smallest nails are driven into the native wood. The lumber for the roof or frame isn't imported from a neighboring region: we cut it from the very tree trunks that have seen the shadows of the midday sun slink away over the mountain valley.

When you buy here, you're buying more than just a board. You're buying a piece of mountain air that still wafts through the rivers like a resinous trail. And no one can say how many years it will take for a tree to forget its forest, but we know for sure: it remembers longer than it serves.
